Santa must be getting ready.

I woke up this morning feeling so Christmas-sy. I am missing home so bad. BER months always have a way of making me think about the good old times, when the family was complete and we were so young and everything looked much bigger. With money or without it, we always had a Christmas party at home with the rest of the kids in the neighborhood. We made our Christmas tree out of dried twigs and placed just about anything for its leaves. The budget was always tight but we were always happy. Finding happiness was very simple then. I have a joyful life now, but those moments will always be missed. I am thankful to have enough great memories to look back into.

I was not born in a country with falling snow, but somehow I associate Christmas to a white Christmas. Blame that on Walter Disney. Here’s a song for you.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa’s on his way;
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother’s child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I’m offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said many times, many ways,
A very Merry Christmas to you

This is my best snowy album so far. Happy viewing.

Frozen airport in Dusseldorf.

Red kisses to a little boy before getting of the airplane.

Frozen streets to the hotel.

Going to the city with my colleagues.

Those round clocks at train stations are very nostalgic.

Everything is bigger in Germany.

Reaching the city proper. Dusseldorf is ranked the highest in terms of quality life in Germany and sixth worldwide.

Another beautiful European city by the River Rhine.

Dinner at Shumacker Alt.

Tea mixed with red wine is a wonderful partner on a cold night.

I am still using their coasters. Sorry. 🙂

Now this is heaven–crispy pork knuckles!!!

Stopping for coffee at McDonald’s. I love you too.

Fulfilled a childhood dream–to make a snow angel. ❤ Micky is my sister who wished to be here.

Woke up to a frozen treat. So eerily beautiful.
